This is a generously sized premium quality first cross merino wool sheepskin selected for density and softness. These sheepskins are warm in winter and cool in summer, the wool fibres breathe naturally allowing air to circulate under the skin.  The dense wool pile is trimmed to 25mm long and provides warmth and cushioning to assist in the prevention of pressure sores. They are suitable for use in bed or on a chair and offer support from shoulder to hip. Ideal for a patient seeking cushioning due to weight loss or prolonged periods in one position.  The sheepskins reduce the risk of developing pressure sores by distributing weight and absorbing moisture.  Sheepskin reduces shear and friction on the skin and is a cost effective method of reducing the risk of pressure wounds. Size is approximately 110 x 70cm. Colour is pale gold. Machine washable on a gentle cycle with a wool detergent. (For patients with pre-existing pressure sores we recommend the Australian Medical Sheepskin AS4480.1).
